Hey there! My name is Derek Konrad and I am the owner and sole operator of dKON Pest Control. I grew up in southern Warren County and enjoyed spending most of my time outdoors as a kid. After high school I went to Central College and graduated with my bachelor’s degree and was a 4-year starter on the wrestling team. I knew I wanted a career where I could help people and make a difference in my community, so I ended up getting in law enforcement and spent eight years as a Deputy Sheriff in Warren County.

With 4 children and having one with special needs it was time for a change. I knew I still wanted to be able to help people while also being able to work outside. Pest Control offered me the ability to help the local community around the Des Moines Metro and never having 2 days be the same. I worked several years in pest control with single family homes, large residential apartments, commercial, businesses, large school districts, new construction, and everything in between.

I started dKON Pest Control with the idea of offering ethical, efficient and innovative services at practical pricing. With myself running the company I am able to contact my customers back in a timely manner. Customers don’t have to worry about dealing with offices from out of state or dealing with having a different technician each service. Customers are valued and taken care of like family.
